Case description
A typed note headed “Light seen in sky, Friday night, Sept.26” describes several reports from people within roughly a mile and a half of one another. The imported catalogue assigns 1952 and the Goodfish Lake area, Alberta; the recovered standalone page does not itself display the year or locality. It should not be treated as more geographically precise than that surviving evidence allows.
The note places some observations around 20:00 and others around 23:00, so they are separate reported occasions rather than one simultaneous crowd sighting. Witnesses described a bright white, flashlight-like light appearing near the eastern horizon, flashing, briefly disappearing and continuing west through alternating light and darkness. Individual estimates for crossing the sky ranged from about half a minute to a minute. No sound or consistent physical shape was reported. Some thought it released sparks, but no tail was described.
The compiler says accounts were obtained separately and generally agreed while differing over the number of flashes. A walking woman’s first thought was a firefly, but the other observations made that explanation doubtful to the writer. Witnesses joked about a flying saucer without seriously identifying it as one. No occupants, landing or technical finding appear on the page. The plate uses a representative homestead couple and a distant white light only, with the catalogue locality explicitly labelled.
