Case description
This record documents recovered weather equipment rather than an encounter with an unidentified craft or being. Correspondence says Clifford Hill found burst rubber balloon material, a red paper parachute and a radiosonde mechanism on 2 March 1956 near Hampton Station, approximately five miles northeast of Hampton Village in King’s County, New Brunswick.
The equipment was identified as U.S. Army Signal Corps radiosonde components, including a modulator and transmitter with serial numbers. The letter notes that no visible instructions identified the launch site or explained whether a finder should return the apparatus. Canadian military correspondence consequently sought guidance and arranged shipment to the Signal Corps laboratories at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. The material described in the file was terrestrial meteorological hardware; its recovery does not supply evidence of alien technology.
The scanned covering letter contains a date that appears as “12 March 1996, ” an obvious conflict with the recovery date and surrounding March 1956 correspondence. The accompanying telex and follow-up letter retain the 1956 chronology, so that is the supported context used here. The precise recovery setting, Hill’s appearance and the instrument’s external configuration are not supplied. The plate therefore shows a contextual finder beside collapsed balloon remnants, red parachute material and a small instrument package. It adds no flying object, occupants or speculative recovery operation.
