Case description

The Prince Rupert federal file is a collection of observations and follow-up correspondence, rather than a documented encounter with occupants. The imported record is indexed to July 28, 1968, but its OCR combines several report sections. These describe round or starlike lights, estimated heights, silence, slow movement and eventual disappearance. The associated RCMP material also includes an August 6 observation, so the durations and directions should not be read as one uninterrupted July 28 event. A surviving telex names John Olsen and other civilian observers for an earlier orange light, and RCMP constables for another report. The narrative continuation identifies constables D. M. Dalziel and H. Gerrits observing two orange, starlike objects around 12:15 a.m. on August 6 from the Sixth Avenue area. They watched for about 15 minutes; one light disappeared upward while the other moved south. An earlier telex gives a more dramatic description of one object's breakup, illustrating variation within the file itself. Newspaper attachments discussed a balloon or flare explanation for at least one sighting. The final forwarding note said investigation had not established the objects' origin. Crucially, none of the reviewed descriptions identifies beings, a landing or a close approach, despite the imported CE 3/entity tags. The plate therefore shows a contextual Prince Rupert observation of distant lights with reconstructed observers. It does not add aliens or a detailed spacecraft to fill that classification gap.
