Case description

A Canadian Forces Station Falconbridge message records an observation at Long Lake, Ontario, at 02:40Z on 4 August 1969. The observer was a woman identified as Mrs. M. Sands, with a Sudbury-area address noted on the form. Conditions were clear. She watched for approximately fifteen minutes. The UTC date does not by itself establish the local calendar day, which would have been the previous evening in Ontario. The appearance was described as round and brighter than a star. It changed among yellow, red, green and blue, but importantly remained one solid color at any given moment. She also reported another object to its right, which seemed to be directing it. That last phrase is the witness’s interpretation of their relationship; it does not document communication, a controlling pilot or an observed mechanism. The message places the main appearance southwest of her and records no audible sound. The short telex was forwarded to national headquarters and the NRC. It supplies no angular size, measured range, trajectory, photography, instrument detection or follow-up identification. Neither object was said to contain occupants, despite the imported encounter classification. The illustration uses two distant points over a representative lakeside setting, rendering the primary light in a single color rather than simultaneously displaying all four reported colors. Exact positions, relative size, the second light’s color and the observer’s viewing place remain unknown; those artistic choices should not be read as additional recovered details.
