Case description

Two copies of a Canadian Base Operations Winnipeg signal preserve a report made on 27 September 1969. The message gives 0300 Z and clear conditions. It identifies Mr L. Murphy and lists M. Tiessen, J. Souchuk and D. Mason as fellow employees, locating the observation at a Safeway store on Cottonwood Drive in Winnipeg. The UTC notation is retained rather than converted into an assumed local date or hour. The object was described as resembling a star with multicoloured light. Its altitude could not be determined, and the observers attributed apparent side-to-side and vertical movement to it. The message states that it was still being watched when the report was transmitted. It supplies no close range, angular size, structured body, noise or interaction. The wording does not describe a person or any occupant of a vehicle. The two surviving sheets are copies of the same reporting chain, not evidence of two distinct events. No final identification or subsequent instrument result appears in the recovered pages. Apparent motion and colour in a distant point of light cannot supply an unseen craft design. The reconstruction therefore keeps the phenomenon small and unresolved and uses an illustrative store exterior and observer portraits, explicitly identifying this as an aerial-light account rather than an entity encounter.
