Case description
The Campbellton file covers a sequence of summer 1971 reports around Sugarloaf Mountain, rather than one securely isolated August 30 encounter. The RCMP continuation sheet records an interview on September 1 with Omer Bujold of Dover Street. He said he had seen the phenomenon nearly nightly for about three weeks, most recently on August 30.
Bujold’s first observation was linked in his memory to the Apollo 15 launch day: a distant bright, sparkling light visible for about ten minutes, which he initially thought was the spacecraft. On another, closer occasion he described a flat upper surface, rounded underside, interior light and a siren-like sound. He said it accompanied him during his mile-long walk from work toward home near the mountain. Exact dates and independent confirmation for these particular phases are not established.
The same police packet separately describes the Flanagans and an August 19 police patrol’s prolonged light observation. Their details must not all be assigned to Bujold’s August 30 entry. No occupants appear in his statement. The plate selects his closer, undated phase, with a complete but minimally specified object and the walking witness. Its structure and landscape are illustrative; the police investigation remained open in the reproduced report.
