Case description

The original RCMP file identifies this Calgary report as the Phillips family’s Lake Bonavista sighting on February 10,1973. Allan and Delores Phillips and their twelve-year-old son Grant were driving south at about 10:40 p.m. when Allan noticed unusually bright red and white lights. Houses briefly blocked their view; from a clearing they judged the lights to be approximately 100 feet above the park. The parents described a silver-grey strip between the lights, estimated twelve to fifteen feet apart. The glare prevented them from resolving an outer hull. Grant lowered a rear window, and they reported no sound. Two additional white lights appeared before the object moved east, turned and accelerated northwest toward central Calgary. Their observation lasted roughly eight to ten minutes, ending around 10:50 p.m. Delores telephoned the RCMP at 12:30 a.m. the following morning. Investigators obtained both parents’ statements, checked aviation activity and noted commercial flights in the area; the parents rejected an aircraft identification. The report records an aerial-light observation, with no occupants, landing or abduction. Those distinctions replace the imported OCR fragments and unsupported entity tags without treating the existence of a government file as confirmation of an extraordinary craft.
