Case description
Three young people reported an unusual object over Roche Percée, Saskatchewan, on 17 September 1974. The RCMP report identifies James Michael John Kolenz, fifteen, Loretta Lillian Thompson, thirteen, and Robert John Kolenz, thirteen. They were in the village under a clear sky. The time window is given as 20:45–21:00 Central Standard Time, with an estimated observation lasting five to ten minutes.
They described one egg-shaped object with a short pointed tail, from which a yellowish-green light blinked on and off. It appeared to float and move slowly overhead. Its course combined northward circles with east–west zigzags, followed by movement north over Bienfait until it disappeared. Several thousand feet was offered as an initial altitude estimate, but the report explicitly says the witnesses could not be certain of its height.
Corporal A. T. Marshall’s 2 October report records follow-up contact and expresses confidence in the witnesses’ reliability. That assessment supports the provenance of their statements, not a technical identification of the object. No occupants, landing, close approach or recovered material are described. The plate therefore shows the three fully clothed youths and a distant indistinct egg-and-tail impression. Exact faces, clothing, apparent size and village layout are illustrative; windows, propulsion hardware and beings are not inferred.
