Case description
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on 31 May 1975, Mrs. Jack Hunter and her son Tory reportedly heard a windlike swishing sound near Mile 880.5 of the Alaska Highway in the Marsh Lake district, Yukon. Looking upward, they said they saw a black object pass just above treetop level at high speed. Christopher Bauer, a friend of Tory's, was also listed as a witness.
The object was compared to an oversized throwing dart, with a narrow front and fins at the rear. It travelled on a straight course, showed no flame and was visible for only about two seconds before passing out of sight. The sky was reported clear. Those brief details distinguish the account from a luminous disc, an object with visible occupants or an observed landing.
The report reached Whitehorse RCMP through Inspector Hunter, who said that his wife and son had seen the object. A constable interviewed Mrs. Hunter and Tory on 2 June; the narrative and a corrected telex were then forwarded to the National Research Council. The radio form contains an initial timing entry followed by an explicit correction to 10:30 p.m., matching the narrative. The recovered pages provide no measured dimensions, vehicle identification or physical evidence. The reconstruction retains the dart silhouette and rear fins without adding engines, exhaust or occupants.
