Case description
The Winnipeg entry is preserved in a CFB Operations telex transmitted at 04:35Z on June 21, 1975, reporting an observation at 04:00Z. Those are UTC times, corresponding to late evening on June 20 locally. Patrick McEnturff and Mrs McEnturff are identified at Bancroft Bay in the Crestview area. The primary sheet is reproduced in Canada FOIA Part 08, pages 256–257.
The report describes an extremely bright object arriving from the northeast in an irregular pattern. It stayed apparently stationary and low for about ten minutes, then moved off toward its original direction. It seemed to gain height and was bright enough to illuminate or reflect from cloud tops as it passed through the partly cloudy sky. Total duration is given as twenty-five minutes, with movement initially slow and later faster.
No body shape, occupant, landing or instrument confirmation is specified. The apparent altitude and changes of motion remain witness estimates. Adjacent or compiled correspondence about aircraft lights should not silently become an identification of this particular report. The plate shows the couple watching a single unresolved luminous source and cloud glow, with representative people and surroundings. Its inherited encounter tag does not establish that beings were present.
