Case description
Stella Good reported a brief coloured object while driving west on Highway 2, about three miles east of Rathwell, Manitoba, in July 1975. The imported entry uses 17 July, as does the signed RCMP follow-up; an earlier radio summary instead gives 16 July. Both place the observation around 1:10 a.m. daylight-saving time, so the date conflict remains visible.
Good described a very bright V-shaped object showing blue, green and red. She estimated it as approximately six feet long, about a quarter of a mile away and roughly 150 feet above the ground. It travelled rapidly north and was visible for about ten seconds. The sky was clear, with both the moon and stars visible. Those size, range and height figures were estimates from a moving vehicle, not instrument measurements.
The report reached the Treherne RCMP detachment and was subsequently forwarded to the National Research Council's upper-atmosphere research section. Police considered Good a reliable citizen, but the recovered pages do not provide corroborating measurements, an identification or physical evidence. Treherne is the reporting detachment; the actual observation was east of Rathwell in South Norfolk municipality. No craft construction, windows, occupants, landing or interaction is described beyond the luminous V.
