Canada reported unidentified aerial event — 1975-09-26 — Steinbach, MB

Frank Gogal, a Canadian National Railway employee living in Steinbach, reported three lights while at the railway station platform in Woodridge, Manitoba, on 26 September 1975. The sighting location was Woodridge, not his home town. He placed it at approximately 06:25 under a very clear sky, looking toward the southwest. The original telex described the lights as very high and travelling very fast. Two lights moved south while another between them moved north. In a later police interview, Gogal called them bright, clear lights. He said the southbound pair disappeared for a couple of seconds, while the northbound light continued some distance; he watched for only five to ten seconds. He heard no noise. He also reported a separate single light around 06:05 the next morning, west of Woodridge and moving south to north, which he followed visually for five or ten seconds. RCMP officers tried more than once to locate him for clarification before interviewing him on 10 October. They regarded him as sensible and reliable and forwarded the information to the NRC Meteor Centre. The available report does not establish what produced the lights or supply a radar match, exact altitude or resolved craft shape. No occupants were described.
