Case description
A Bedford RCMP letter dated 31 October 1975 reports that Mr C. Horne of Beaverbank Villa, Nova Scotia, observed an unusual light at 22:20 on 17 October. He contacted the Bedford detachment. A second archival copy is the short telecommunications message forwarding the same report, rather than an independent observation.
Horne reportedly watched from the Beaverbank area for approximately one and a half minutes. He described a single light, estimated at about 5000 feet high, moving quickly from one position to another. During the latter part of the observation it appeared to have a white tail. It was last seen heading in the direction of Halifax International Airport. The evening was clear and cool; the source supplies no resolved airframe, dimensions, occupants or ground interaction.
Police patrolled the area without observing the light themselves. The letter says Horne was the only person to call the detachment and that officers regarded him as sincere, while stating that they had no explanation for what he saw. That assessment records how the report was received, not a determination of extraordinary origin. The plate therefore shows a distant light and temporary tail, with illustrative residential context. No craft hull or beings can be reconstructed from the available documents.
