Case description
Canadian reporting for 3 November 1975 records bright lights northeast of Haileybury, Ontario. The initial observation time is given as 09:45 Z. Named observers included Ontario Provincial Police constables Gay and Bradshaw, civilian radio operator Douglas and employees of a radio station and Northern Telephone Company. Their individual positions and the full number of observers are not supplied.
One light appeared round and intensely white, with finger-like rays of glare. Another, just north of it, reportedly showed red, white and green colors. After approximately an hour, the lights seemed to move slowly south and climb, although their altitude was difficult to estimate. They were still being observed at 11:00 Z. A follow-up said binocular observations were hampered by the main light’s intensity, compared with an arc-welding light.
The retained messages are observations and relay copies, not separate independent events each time the wording is repeated. Handwritten marginal notes suggest Venus for the principal light and Regulus for the other; those annotations are potential celestial identifications rather than a reproduced final analysis. The large apparent brightness estimates do not establish nearby vehicle size. No hull, landing, occupants or interaction with the observers was reported, so the plate retains distant lights and a contextual observer composite.
