Case description
On 22 November 1977, a woman in St. Albert, Alberta, reported an unusual light from her bedroom at approximately 10:25 in the morning. The RCMP message describes the weather as very clear and cold. She watched for a full twenty-five minutes, making the daylight setting and extended duration important details omitted from the degraded imported summary. The report identifies a single observer.
She described an irregularly shaped ball of very bright red light. At first it appeared stationary, then moved south at what she compared with satellite speed and height. It stopped again and seemed to release something resembling a fireball. The object continued on a zigzag course, going easterly, then south and east again before disappearing. Her comparisons do not provide measured height, speed or a confirmed account of material being discharged. No sound, occupants or recognizable vehicle construction was recorded.
The St. Albert detachment forwarded the account to the NRC Meteor Centre. The reporting constable considered the woman rational and reliable and noted her earlier civilian air-patrol experience in the United States; she herself believed it was an unusual natural phenomenon. Those assessments concern the observer and her interpretation, not a demonstrated explanation. No corroborating observer, radar track or recovered material appears on the page. The plate retains a distant red light seen through a bedroom window in daylight and avoids converting a ball of light into a detailed alien craft.
