Case description
During the night of 20 August 1979, Pauline Press, Ron Meadows and several other people at Prince George, British Columbia, reported a small coloured light in the sky. The transmission was sent on 21 August, which explains the later date attached to the imported entry. Its own observation field says 20 August, from about 11 p.m. until at least 11:40 p.m., when the report was still being received.
The observers described a round light only a little larger than an ordinary star, showing red, green and blue and apparently moving up and down. The record notes smog over Prince George. It names Press and Meadows among approximately seven observers, including Press's husband and other companions. No measured distance or size, structural outline, windows or occupants is supplied.
The report was relayed through Canadian Forces Station Baldy Hughes to federal military and NRC channels. Its heading uses the administrative wording Fireball Report (UFO), but the actual description is a prolonged star-sized light rather than a documented fast meteor or resolved vehicle. The surviving transmission supplies no definitive identification, radar confirmation or physical trace. The plate therefore keeps the observed feature small and unresolved, avoiding a close hovering saucer that would contradict the stated angular size.
