Case description
A Meadow Lake RCMP telex records a flare-like group of lights seen in and near the Saskatchewan town on 5 October 1979. The observation time is typed as 01:45 Mountain Standard Time, with 08:45 added above it, apparently the corresponding UTC time. Conditions were clear. The message names Constables Link, George and Heintz and Corporal Gudmundson as observers, and separately mentions Ernest Johnson of Makwa.
The appearance was described as a group of white-reddish flares, white in the centre with reddish edges. It seemed to travel northeast in approximately level flight. The estimated duration was thirty seconds, and no sound was heard. The telex supplies no definite number of lights, angular size, altitude, resolved structure or information establishing that all named observers stood together.
A stamp on the recovered page identifies it as a possible meteor. That is an attributed conventional assessment, not an independently demonstrated trajectory or a precise identification from the brief text alone. No occupants, landing, communication or physical trace are described. The plate therefore uses one representative police observer rather than assembling different locations into a single group. It shows a restrained flare-like cluster with illustrative spacing and count, without a connecting spacecraft, parachutes, windows or an alien crew.
