Case description
On the evening of February 5, 1967, a fifteen-year-old identified in HUMCAT as Timothy J. reportedly heard a strange noise and his dog barking near Hilliard, Ohio. He said a large egg-shaped object descended into a field. It was estimated at seventy-five feet long and forty-five feet high and rested on three supports.
An elevator-like structure opened underneath and several beings emerged carrying small spheres. They placed the objects around the craft and appeared to wait. According to the fuller early summary, another man approached across the field and a conversation followed, interpreted in part as telepathic. The descriptions do not provide dependable alien anatomy.
The witness was then noticed and, he alleged, seized and pulled toward the object, leaving marks on his neck. Before he reached it, the group abruptly released him, collected the spheres and departed in the craft. This is an attempted-taking claim, not an account of completed boarding or an interior examination.
NICAP received a telephone report in June and a subsequent investigator’s letter from Steven Mackey. Raymond Fowler later retold the incident with differences in the hatch and captors, citing NICAP’s UFO Investigator. The separate versions preserve the same broad sequence but should not be merged into a more precise eyewitness description than the sources allow.
