Canada reported unidentified aerial event — 1966-08-07 — Beaverlodge Town

A Canadian military signal records a telephone report from Constable Alexandre of the Beaverlodge RCMP on 7 August 1966, approximately 1100 Z or 06:00 local. He had seen two bright objects northeast of the town and asked the nearby base's operations staff to look. LAC Arbuckle, a fighter-control operator, checked that part of the sky and also saw two star-like objects, one brighter than the other; a second operator, LAC Crone, saw the same lights. The continuation records another observer, commissionaire W. Russell, who thought the lights moved southeast and later rose until barely visible. Other observers continued to see them. The lights were described as steady white points, with one unusually bright. The message includes the duty forecaster's suggestion that the morning star was probably involved. It explicitly notes no fireball and no radar sighting; the report's meteor/fireball routing heading should not be mistaken for a confirmed meteor identification. This is an account of distant lights and their interpretation, with more than one visual observer but no resolved vehicle. The forecaster's conventional suggestion is part of the contemporary record and must remain visible alongside the reported movement. No beings, landing, communication or physical effects were described. The plate shows the constable's illustrative outdoor viewpoint with two small lights, rather than inventing an aircraft or combining every observer at one location.
