Canada reported unidentified aerial event — 1967-12-10 — Lac Jacques Cartier, QC

On 10 December 1967, former army major Paul Armand Boldun reported a very bright object while driving north on Highway 54, about ten miles north of Lac Jacques-Cartier, Quebec. The military message gives 21:45 Z. It describes a perfectly clear deep-blue sky, with the Sun just below the western mountain tops and enough light to drive without headlights. Boldun had no passengers and was using an amateur mobile radio. He noticed the object high at about his two-o’clock position. It initially appeared to descend rapidly toward a mountain several miles away, then slowed and curved horizontally. It passed behind that mountain, reappeared between it and another farther north, and finally disappeared behind the second. The entire observation reportedly lasted only five seconds. The light changed from intense bluish-white to a less intense, more yellow appearance during the turn. He described a bright oval, without a trail, glowing particles or sound. Boldun estimated dimensions of roughly 100 by 40 feet, but the distance and apparent altitude were not independently measured. The message records that Bagotville operations knew of no military aircraft in the area and that no radar watch was operating then. That is not radar confirmation of the object. No occupants or close interaction were reported. The plate follows the driver, luminous oval and mountain-screening sequence without adding windows, vehicle hardware or beings.
