Case description
A Canadian Forces message records a family’s recurring observation from Scotchtown, Nova Scotia, on 15 October 1981. The scanned form gives 23:00Z and clear conditions. A woman on King Street and members of her family reportedly watched an object toward the northeast from their home. The message says similar observations had occurred for approximately an hour each night over the preceding two weeks, so this is not simply a single momentary encounter.
The object was called oval and associated with red, green, blue, white and orange. Its estimated altitude was 3,000 feet and its estimated distance three miles. Those figures are witness estimates, not radar measurements. The family used binoculars. The short report supplies no flight path, landing, approach to the house, resolved windows or occupants, and it does not explain whether the colors appeared simultaneously or changed over time.
The message was transmitted from Canadian Forces Station Sydney to the National Defence Operations Centre, with the National Research Council informed. This documents receipt of an observation, rather than an identification of a vehicle. No explanatory investigation or independent instrument record was recovered with this page. The imported entity label is unsupported by the actual text: no beings were reported. The reconstruction therefore shows the family observing a distant, modest oval light with binoculars; its colored glow is illustrative and does not imply a close spacecraft.
