Case description
The Moberly record is a brief daytime aerial observation, not an occupant encounter. The original Golden RCMP telex, GOL10/1008, survives in Canada FOIA Part 28, page 270. It dates the sighting to August 10, 1972, at 2:35 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time, one mile west of Moberly in the Golden area of British Columbia.
The observer was a tourist from Yellowknife whose name is redacted. From the highway, the person reported a blue, wingless object with a fiery tail travelling west at very high speed, faster than an ordinary jet. It was visible for approximately two seconds. The report gives an estimated altitude of 1,200 feet and describes clear conditions with scattered clouds. The comparison was to an aeroplane without wings, not a measured mechanical identification.
The detachment had no other local witness report, although Invermere had received sightings. Nearby pages contain regional observations that day, but their differing viewpoints are not additional occupants or details of this person’s object. This lies within the well-known August 10 daylight-fireball reporting episode; the particular telex itself does not supply a final determination. The plate shows a representative highway observer and the complete luminous streak, without invented beings or a resolved spacecraft.
