Case description
At about 03:00 on 21 June 1968, eleven boys aged sixteen to eighteen were camping at Waldsea Lake Provincial Park, northwest of Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Their collective statement to the RCMP says they had been sitting around a fire, playing guitars and singing when one noticed an object near the northern horizon. He first considered a satellite but thought it was moving too quickly.
The group watched it pass overhead and followed its apparent course along the lakeshore. They described a triangular arrangement of three white lights at the front and a faint, blurred, oblong green luminous region behind. The recorded drawing combines those impressions into a pointed front with rounded rear; it should not be treated as an engineering outline. They said it moved generally north to southwest, sometimes seeming to slide sideways, and disappeared behind trees after about five minutes.
The boys tried to fetch an adult at the concession stand, but the object was gone before he came outside. Police obtained one composite statement rather than eleven separate statements. The investigating officer did not believe the boys were perpetrating a hoax, while offering no identification. Their comparison with daytime jet altitudes of 30, 000–40, 000 feet was explicitly acknowledged as unreliable at night. No occupant was described. The plate shows the eleven campers and the reported light configuration, with the luminous rear kept indistinct.
