Case description
The St. Paul file describes three Crier children watching a light-bearing form over Saddle Lake on 2 March 1971. This Atlas entry preserves the same reported episode as another imported near-St. Paul record; it is not independent corroboration. The recovered copies identify Milton, ten, Alice, sixteen, and Herman, fourteen, as the outdoor observers.
Milton heard a soft purring sound while outside, then noticed three red and orange lights on a round form to the south. He summoned his older siblings. They described a saucer-like object, colour uncertain, about the size of two cars. It reportedly hovered just above the treetops for two minutes before departing west at an estimated fifteen miles an hour. The telex gives roughly 22:15 Mountain Standard Time, and the full observation was estimated at three minutes.
Their mother saw coloured illumination reflected in the bedroom but did not leave bed; their father was not an additional eyewitness. Statements were taken after he contacted police the next morning. Constable E. P. Lammerts considered the children sincere while expressing doubt about the object’s identity. Nearby aviation and oilfield activity were noted without establishing an explanation. No occupants, physical traces or landing appear in the account. This entry receives its own plate while retaining the shared-source limitation.
