Case description
At approximately 21:40 on 25 November 1970, two brothers driving west toward Lower Shag Harbour reported five or six reddish-orange lights near Bear Point, Shelburne County. In their statements the lights were only tens of feet above the road, with one higher than the others and one briefly extinguishing and relighting. Their size and distance estimates differed. The brothers said their car stopped unexpectedly, although the passenger explicitly said the engine kept running. They also reported interruption of the tape player.
The episode lasted roughly twenty to thirty seconds. One brother recalled a strange pressure or loss of forward-motion sensation and wondered whether there had been a brief blank in memory; the other described the lights simply disappearing without motion. They did not get out at the spot. A police patrol returned with them immediately, searched the wooded roadside for about half an hour and found nothing unusual. No beings or resolved craft were described.
Separately, witnesses at Smithville and Baccaro described four round orange lights in a sloping straight line around the same time. Some saw a central light go out and return, but described a gradual sinking behind trees rather than instantaneous disappearance. Corporal Keeping interviewed them and consulted Colonel Rushton at CFS Barrington, concluding that he lacked an explanation. Similar timing does not prove a single object or corroborate the brothers' vehicle effects. The plate depicts their roadside light view alone, without adding a hull, abduction scene or a proven electromagnetic mechanism.
