On the night of 17–18 July 1990, many witnesses, including a gendarmerie patrol, saw as many as 13 objects moving silently with flashing lights. One witness described a kite-like shape. GEIPAN considered these very probably misidentified aircraft and linked the sightings to the departure that same day of the Tour de France aérien des jeunes pilotes, an aerial tour of France for young pilots.
