(DPT) BOUCHES-DU-RHONE (13) --.--.1993

In April 2008, a witness reported that while on holiday in the Camargue in 1993, he and another person had seen an unusual light. It arrived rapidly like a shooting star, slowed, stopped, made several zigzags and disappeared vertically at very high speed. GEIPAN’s requests for further information went unanswered. No precise location or date was supplied; 1 January was assigned arbitrarily. GEIPAN states that investigation is impossible and considers the account not highly unusual, suggesting atmospheric entry as a possible explanation.
