Open this case in the interactive AtlasCase description
On 11 December 1997 around 23:00, military personnel in Brienne-le-Château saw silent flashes accompanied by brief power cuts. EDF confirmed outages caused by faults on the 33 kV line serving the area. Given the timing, GEIPAN considers that the flashes probably occurred on that line during the faults. The summary describes the flashes as causing the outages, while the narrative links both to the electrical incidents.
