AERONEF — (REG) GRAND EST (GES) 10.08.1998

On 10 August 1998 at around midnight, very many witnesses in the Grand Est region, including a train driver, saw a triangular shape with 2 red lights and one very bright white light. After seeing press coverage, another witness said it was a microlight that had also passed near his home in the same time window. A low-altitude Transall aircraft was also reported flying along the line between the 2 observation sites. The source concludes that one of these 2 aircraft almost certainly explains the sighting.
