In June 1999, a glider pilot in the Saoû case, dated 15 June in the title, took landscape photographs and later noticed unidentified marks on the slides that had not been visible when taking the pictures. The pilot thought they were UFOs. GEIPAN explains that photographs without a corresponding direct visual sighting are generally unsuitable for assessment: such marks can also arise from lens reflections or the development process.
