(DPT) VAUCLUSE (84) 05.07.2002

On 5 July 2002 between 22:00 and 22:30, many witnesses across departments including Vaucluse and Bouches-du-Rhône saw several white lights moving together. Accounts describe 6 or 8 lights, arranged in a line, a circle or 2 triangles, but agree that all moved uniformly together. Reported durations range from a few minutes to an hour, despite the initial 22:00–22:30 time window given in the source. Similar formation-flight sightings in 2008 were investigated and classified A as flights by the Patrouille de France; the source refers to GEIPAN's article on July 2008 formations over Vaucluse. This prompted reexamination of the 2002 case, which was also identified as sightings of the Patrouille de France.
