On 31 October 2006, a driver in Mortagne-sur-Sèvre saw an intermittent white light that seemed to move slowly behind clouds. An electric string of lights was operating on a viaduct that evening. The gendarmerie established that poor weather had caused the witness to mistake that light display for a UFO.
