NICE (06) 09.06.2007

On 9 June 2007 at about 01:30, a witness noticed an intriguing, very bright light in the sky and filmed it for several minutes. The Nice Est gendarmerie was very reluctant to take his statement, so he contacted GEIPAN directly. His account was therefore recorded on a questionnaire submitted directly to GEIPAN, rather than in an official gendarmerie report. A check using Winstars 2 quickly showed that he had observed Jupiter under very favorable conditions, which were also mentioned in the June issue of Sciences et Avenir. The witness conducted his own analysis and reached the same conclusion. The phenomenon was therefore fully identified.
