Case description
On 13 August 2007 at about 23:30, a family watching the stars from their garden at Montlouis-sur-Loire noticed a puzzling light. A bright white ball approached from the west, increasing in apparent size. It gradually changed course toward the Pole Star, then diminished and disappeared completely. A sky chart for the reported place and time showed that the family had seen the International Space Station pass overhead.
