On 1 November 2007 at 20:34, a witness closing shutters in Orgelet saw a light resembling a shooting star or a white firework rocket. It moved very rapidly at apparently low altitude from northeast to northwest for 2–3 seconds. No further information was obtained. GEIPAN identifies an atmospheric-entry phenomenon, potentially a meteorite—as termed in the source—or space debris, without being able to identify the object with certainty.
