OUZOUER-SUR-LOIRE (45) --.11.2007

A witness near Ouzouer-sur-Loire reported a sighting in 2007, but the source contains conflicting dates: it says March, then gives an uncertain interval of 22–28 November; the case title also says November. While driving on a departmental road sometime between 20:00 and 22:00, he and his female passenger suddenly saw a yellow, teardrop-shaped light that seemed to dive vertically towards the ground. It moved silently and disappeared rapidly at the horizon after 1–2 seconds. From the path and duration, GEIPAN identifies the phenomenon as an atmospheric-entry fireball, described as probable in the summary. It attributes the teardrop shape with certainty to a wake trailing behind the object.
