A woman reviewing photographs taken beside a beach in Pornichet (44) on 23 April 2008 at about 16:15 noticed unexplained spots she had not seen directly. GEIPAN notes the difficulty of analyzing such images without a visual sighting to corroborate them. Initially, it considered birds crossing the camera's view probable. The body and wings were readily distinguishable in photograph 1. Photograph 2 was less clear, but was initially considered very probably the same phenomenon by analogy. After publication on the website, a message from a new witness led to a clear identification of the object in photograph 2 as a frisbee; see temoin photo2 retouchee100826. The frisbee is also visible in a thrower's hands in the updated photograph 1, temoin photo1 retouchee100826. The case therefore involves 2 different objects: probably a bird in photograph 1 and a frisbee in photograph 2. Classification B remains unchanged because the bird in photograph 1 is only probably identified.
