On 10 September 2012 at about 20:20, 2 witnesses observed an orange luminous phenomenon with a long tail passing slowly at very high altitude along a straight path. It disappeared toward the south behind a cloud. Only 1 witness submitted a brief account. This distant observation had low strangeness and was poorly documented and imprecise. The description suggested an aircraft contrail seen through low clouds. Orange is a common color for contrails toward the west at sunset, which occurred there at 20:13 that day. However, GEIPAN lacked sufficient concrete evidence to support this hypothesis and classified the case C for insufficient information.
