Case description
On Saturday 15 September 2012 at about 23:00, several people in Yerres (91) saw yellow-orange lights move silently and gradually extinguish. Only 1 person reported. The detailed appearance—yellow points fading into dark shapes while moving slowly and horizontally—is characteristic of sky lanterns. Simultaneous fireworks on a Saturday evening also support that explanation, and the very light, mainly southwest wind is compatible. GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable sky lanterns.
