On Tuesday 9 October 2012 at about 22:40, a witness in his garden saw 2 dark-yellow points of light. They seemed stationary, then moved rapidly southwest. No particular sound was heard during the 3-minute observation before he lost sight of them. A site investigation with the witness and enquiries to military authorities established that the sighting coincided precisely with large-scale military exercises. However, the authorities did not specify the type of craft: helicopter, aircraft or illumination balloon. No other sighting was available to confirm that the phenomenon occurred above an air base. GEIPAN therefore has a strong, supported hypothesis but no conclusive proof. The case is classified B: very probable observation of 2 aircraft during military manoeuvres.
