On 13 October 2012 around 02:05, a witness saw a good 10 or so very faint pale-blue objects to the west, resembling shooting stars. During 8–10 seconds they followed short paths crossing “in every direction” and quickly went out. Their height was estimated as “4 or 5 fingers above the hills and village roofs.”
Immediately afterward, for 15–20 seconds, the witness saw a red point at the zenith moving west like a satellite. It stopped abruptly for 3–4 seconds while rapidly brightening into a sphere with a fuzzy red halo. It then made very fast zigzags with sharp angular turns, without jerks or acceleration/deceleration, returned to its original path, stopped a second time, emitted a series of vibrations, then stopped a third time before disappearing at great speed “at the wind turbines.” No other account was collected.
The investigation report concludes:
- The first objects' behavior does not fit shooting stars.
- The second UAP's behavior matches no known manufactured or natural object.
- Laser spots are rejected because there was no cloud or mist screen.
- Perceptual micro-nystagmus cannot explain the zigzag path.
The available evidence does not explain the sightings. To clarify or supplement the account, GEIPAN sought an on-site interview and reconstruction, which could still have been decisive 2 years later. Despite repeated telephone calls, voicemail, text messages and emails, no appointment could be arranged because the witness could not be reached. A more recent final attempt also failed. Neither an explanation nor stronger evidence about the account's substantiation and reliability could be obtained. These remain insufficient for the strangeness described in the questionnaire.
GEIPAN classifies the case C: insufficient information.
