On 2 November 2012 at about 23:00, 3 people saw 2 red balls of light pass 5 minutes apart. They moved slowly towards the sea and disappeared while ascending. GEIPAN considers their orange-red colour, silent low movement with the light northwesterly wind and weekend-evening timing characteristic of sky lanterns (see Météociel). Haze above them could be steam from damp envelopes heated by the flame or smoke from the burner. Although the witness did not accept the hypothesis, GEIPAN classifies the case B: probable observation of 2 sky lanterns.
