On 1 December 2012 at 17:00, a witness in Paris (75) saw a stationary grey object. He described it as triangular and also as a spinning top, with a pointed projection at the nose and a cross shape in its centre. There was no sound or smoke. It then drifted slowly in a straight line at constant altitude, as if carried by wind. He saw several flashing red lights aligned across its centre and took a photograph. No other account was collected. The investigation report finds movement with the wind, shape and colour matching existing novelty balloons, and compatible size and distance estimates.
