[AERO LOC] PERPIGNAN (66) 12.12.2012

On 12 December 2012 at 19:20 UTC, a pilot and an air traffic controller were intrigued by a very bright yellow-orange light in the sky. A photograph was taken from the aircraft. A ground observer at Espira-de-l'Agly (66) also saw the phenomenon that day. Local inquiries at the nearby military base established that training with illuminating flares had taken place on 2 consecutive evenings. This fully identified case was therefore classified A.
