ROCHELLE (LA) (17) 12.12.2012

On 12 December 2012 at 20:10, a witness saw a light pass silently for 10 seconds. GEIPAN considers the intense blue light characteristic of a large fireball, produced over a few seconds by atmospheric entry of a meteoroid or satellite debris. The date is close to the Geminid meteor-shower peak. BOAM, http://www.boam.fr, recorded many such events during that period, but none at the reported time. The case is classified B: fireball, probably associated with the Geminids.
