[AERO RYR, BIE] TOULOUSE (31) 13.12.2012

On 13 December 2012 at 16:48 Universal Time, a pilot in flight near Toulouse reported a green meteor-like object moving east to west, estimating its altitude at 45,000–60,000 feet. The location or viewing sector is given in the source as “030° Toulouse.” GEIPAN finds the brief account consistent with a meteoroid entering the atmosphere, also termed a meteorite fall in the source. The date coincided with the Geminid peak, with meteors arriving from the northeast horizon at that hour. Many camera and eyewitness observations occurred on 12 and 13 December, but GEIPAN received none simultaneous with this particular sighting. It classifies the case B: probable meteoroid entry.
