SAINTE-ANNE (971) 14.12.2012

A sighting in Sainte-Anne, Guadeloupe (971), on 14 December 2012 was reported in August 2014. An investigator spoke to the witness by telephone and met the witness in December 2014, allowing the account to be expanded. At about 17:00 on the observation date, a shadow darkening the living-room window attracted the witness's attention. Going onto the terrace, the witness saw a moving black craft above the home, triangular with overlapping side panels and a circular central feature. Vapor came from it. During the 2–4-minute observation, buzzing and clapping sounds were heard. The witness gestured toward it, after which it rapidly disappeared northwest. No other account was collected. GEIPAN considers this reported close encounter with an unknown craft highly unusual. However, the single account was made 20 months later and does not provide enough reliable support for a firm scientific assessment; see the investigation report. It classifies the case C: insufficient information relative to the claimed strangeness.
