On 1 January 2013 between 16:00 and 16:30, a witness in Paris saw 2 successive groups of luminous balls moving west to east along the same path. They made no sound and disappeared at the horizon.
GEIPAN considers the multiple lights in 2 groups, holiday date and light westerly wind entirely consistent with sky lanterns. The case is classified B, with the source summary describing a probable lantern sighting.
