Open this case in the interactive AtlasCase description
On 1 April 2013 at about 21:15, 2 people at home in Artonne saw an orange ball of light move slowly and silently, then recede faster and disappear instantly. Their detailed account describes a yellow-orange ball without any trail, moving with the northerly wind recorded at Vichy by Météociel. GEIPAN considers this strongly suggestive of a sky lantern, probably released at a celebration for the Easter Monday public holiday. It classifies the case as B: a probable sky lantern.
