TROUVILLE-SUR-MER (14) 07.04.2013

On 14 October 2015, a witness reported an earlier sighting from Trouville-sur-Mer (14). At 05:10 on Sunday 7 April 2013, he saw orange lights through his window moving silently away from the building towards the sea. They seemed incandescent, about basketball-sized, and did not flash. He began filming and saw 5 more follow the same path, making 8 in total. No additional accounts were collected. GEIPAN found pinkish-orange balls crossing the sky over a few minutes on a weekend night strongly suggestive of sky lanterns, probably released nearby after a private party. The narrative describes east-to-west travel, matching the 7–11 km/h easterly wind at Le Havre recorded by Météociel. The French summary instead gives west-to-east, an unresolved direction reversal. GEIPAN found the video conclusive, particularly around its third minute, and classified the case A: sky lanterns.
